Back in March 2018, I took a trip to Bali to do some filmmaking. I'd heard amazing things about Bali, but honestly when I saw for myself I felt so blessed to see a country with such beautiful surroundings.
I wanted to share with you all a few tips and recommendations for food, leisure and everything in Bali - So if your planning a trip to Bali soon have a read and share with your friends. If not, but your inspired about going to a new destination I hope this gives you some inspiration.
Seafood Beach...
Seafood Platter - Photo credit: Chanell Wallace |
Name: Jimbaran Seafood
Location: Jimbaran Beach
Description: When you get to the beach their will be loads of restaurants across the beach. There isn’t really an entrance to the beach but you can walk through the restaurants to get onto the beach.
Have a walk up and down the beach and you’ll get a vibe for the best ones, but they offer platters which work out at great value when you order in groups. They only do seafood though, but do lovely roasted corn up and down the beach as well!
Transport...
GoJek
Description: Gojek is like uber but a scooter where you can ride on them, you can also order food through GoJek.
Grab
Description: Grab is very similar to Gojek
Also, Local cabs and Uber.
NOTE: All these are apps so make sure you have wifi, especially when you go Jimbaran beach they only have wifi at some restaurants and you can only get it when you eat there. Personally I would recommend using the apps, it’s a lot cheaper, but the normal taxis are good for when you have no wifi or data.

FOOD!
- Pit Stop (Amazing Burgers) – 2 locations in Seminyak and Cangu
- Kynd (Great for smoothies and coolers, very popular with tourists and great for pics) – Location in Seminyak
- Mini Mart (Great for go to snacks, crisps drinks etc) – They have loads of locations everywhere you wont miss it!
- Bali Bowls (Great fresh food inc Veggie and Vegan Food) – Location in Ubud
Chocolate Brownie - Photo Credit: Chanell Wallace |
- Made’s Banana flour (Cute bakery that does pancakes and waffles, really cheap and light!) – Location seems far out but if you take a trip out in Ubud/Cangu you could visit here for a bit of history into banana flour.
- Mcdonalds, KFC and dominos are available in Kuta and Seminyak. I think they deliver to various locations near Cangu too. (Check on GoJek very similar to UberEats)
Bars...
In Kuta there is a main strip which has 2 popular bars…
Paddy’s and Sky Garden
Sky Garden is pricey but is definitely an experience (Check for themed nights) Paddy’s was a VIBE absolutely loved it!
There was a club next to Paddy’s that played a lot of RnB and Hip Hop I cant remember the name but it played the BEST music, if you ask around someone will point it out!
Note: Beware of pickpocketers! You are there to have fun and party just like other party destinations but be aware of your belongings and always keep them close.

Beach clubs...
My recommendations are… Potato Head Beach Club and Finns Beach Club

Both were great but definitely where I spent the most money. Most beach clubs have the same offers which is that you can get a beach bed surrounding the pool for groups which normally has a minimum spend (I think one beach club charged 450,000 rupiah) But by the time you get food and cocktails, collectively you will spend that.
Try to arrive early at any beach club to get a good spot!
Recommendations I got from the people I went with…
Other go to places…
Hotel Mexicola – Instagram type food and drink place
Engine Room – Bar with cheap drinks, back room plays RnB
Azul Beach Club
Gusto Gelato (Best Gelato)
La Brisa (Nice place to chill)
Warung Italia (Good Italian Food)
