Looking for a winter getaway...

The weather is cold, sometimes wet and the winter blues have got us all. But have no fear I have the answer to warm you up this winter.

Foxton Locks Lodges in Leicestershire is a beautiful getaway destination for a weekend or even over the christmas break. I visited here in March, and it was the perfect break for a quiet, relaxing, serene getaway.

"No noise from other cabins, surrounding areas or cars just the sound of the winter breeze. I never thought the world could be so quiet."

They have 6 beautiful cabins, accommodating for 2-4 people depending on which cabins are available. I stayed in the Owl's Nest cabin and it was beyond bliss. Both the interior and exterior were stunning. With views of the British countryside surrounding us. Our cabin was complete with outside decking, seating and even a private hot tub!

I can't say what room I liked the most because all of the rooms were beyond my expectations. A modern, stylish kitchen with all the appliances you need to make your meals (If you don't want to cook they also have a in-house chef and also offer breakfast baskets upon request). A Living room with cozy sofas and a log fire to make sure it's toasty and warm.

A dining area that looks right out to the scenery of the countryside - BLISS! Two double rooms that make you not want to leave! fluffy flooring and the softest beds you can imagine. Believe me, you'll never feel the cold in this cabin. And finally the bathroom... Now this is where I relaxed. With the floor lights and large square bath tubs you felt as if you left your cabin and entered a spa - Absolutely gorgeous. And with the additional hot tub, I felt spoiled for choice!

With only 5 other cabins,  you will not be disturbed. No noise from other cabins, surrounding areas or cars just the sound of the winter breeze. I never thought the world could be so quiet.

Foxton Locks Lodges go above and beyond to make your stay special, with a complimentary bottle of wine, games and a full range of DVD's, I felt like I stepped out of my busy world and entered into a peaceful one. Just me, my thoughts and the countryside.
